What does it mean if I don have a midcycle (ovulatory) temperature spike?
An absence of a midcycle temperature spike can mean one of several things: 1) Your temperatures may not reflect the heat-inducing progesterone produced following ovulation. This is rare, but does happen in some women who are indeed ovulating; 2) You may be having a delayed ovulation, with a temperature rise late in your cycle, followed by a short luteal phase (second half of your cycle) of less than 10 days; or 3) You may not be ovulating. If an absence of midcycle temperature spike continues, check with your health care provider.
