What does it mean for a group to “adopt” an institutional A.A. meeting?
When an A.A. group “adopts” an institutional meeting the group assumes responsibility for taking the meeting to the detox, rehab, outpatient program or shelter. Usually through a “Group Corrections & Treatment Facilities Representative”, group members carry the A.A. message to those in the institution who may be still- suffering alcoholics.
