Articles in the public domain (1851–1922) can be accessed for free. Articles from 1923–1986 can be purchased individually for $3.95, or as part of an article 10-pack for $15.95. Note that most articles from 1851–1980 are only available as PDF files, though some articles, such as those from 1860–1865, are in text format. Readers with active Home Delivery subscriptions to The New York Times can access up to 100 premium articles per month.
