What does iridescent mean?
Iridescence is the color effect on a surface that shows a lustrous, rainbow sort of brilliance. Examples of iridescence include a soap bubble or oil on water. This is most visible on iridescent products as the viewing angle changes, resulting in a play of colors on the surface. As such, it can be difficult to discern in our still photographs. When considering iridescent product, it is also important to note that the spray will obscure the color of the glass underneath, particularly with dark colors. When iridescent product arrives, it may be labeled “Diamond Crystal” or “DC” – this is not a mistake, we also call iridescent “Diamond Crystal.
