Iowa Telecommunications Services, Inc, (d/b/a Iowa Telecom) is the largest provider of wireline local exchange telecommunications services to residential and business customers in rural Iowa, serving over 450 communities across the state. We are the second-largest local exchange carrier in Iowa. Iowa Telecom currently operates 288 telephone exchanges as the incumbent or “historical” local exchange carrier and we are currently the sole telecommunications company providing wireline services in approximately 85% of the communities we serve. Our core businesses are the provision of local telephone service and network access to other telecommunications carriers for calls originated or terminated on our network. In addition, we provide long distance service, dial-up and DSL Internet access, and other communications services.
