What does in-kind on the budget mean?
This is anything you don’t have to pay for outright. If someone loans you a camera or their editing system, find out what you would have to pay if you had to rent it, and use that figure for your in-kind amount. If you own your own camera and intend to use it for future projects, then still count your own “rental” of it as an in-kind cost. While these aren’t hard costs, they do demonstrate your ingenuity and craftiness as a filmmaker who will get his/her project done by any means necessary. Panelists tend to like that sort of thing.
