What does Idle, Handshake, Training and Showtime mean for each port?

0

An Idle state indicates that a modem was previously connected to that port with a history of traffic but is currently disconnected or powered off. A Handshake status indicates that there is an attempt from the DSLAM to connect to a modem or there is no modem connected to that port. When the DSLAM has a connection to a modem, it will go through a status of Training before the units synchronize. When a port is working properly and synchronized, the status will be Showtime.
