What does Idaho Center for Racial Sensitivity’s Multicultural Communication Classroom Assessments do?
Working in a diverse setting, multicultural teaching and teaching to a diverse students population begins with effective communication. As educators we all understand we have to reach, before we can teach students. ICRS has the tools to affectively evaluate the multicultural climate within a classroom setting. Our Multicultural Communication Classroom Assessment Process: We have the ability to attend the workplace or classroom and observe and evaluate, while in session, the multicultural climate. We breakdown the work day or class period into time slots and look for, listen to and evaluate at least 3 of the known models of communication, Linear (one-way communication), Interactive (communication with feedback) and Transactional (simultaneous communication, used in a lot of homes of students from diverse background) Communication.
