What does humidity mean?

This is why often people say that it’s not the heat, but the humidity that tires them out. It is so humid in Florida, for example, because it is close to the water and also receives a good amount of rainfall year round! The percentage (like when the weather channel says ’87 percent’ humidity) is the amount of water in the air compared to the maximum amount of water that the air can hold at any given temperature. So, 87% humidity is pretty high! In other words, the higher the humidity, the more water that’s in the air (and the more your hair will frizz up!)
