What does Hubble Telescope do?
Hubble is the largest optical telescope in Earth orbit – it observes and images objects in space. Many of its images are of very distant objects (such as the Hubble Deep Field Survey, that shows galaxies billions of light years away). It also has created some very detailed images of objects in our galaxy (the Eagle Nebula and its Pillars of Creation are famous, as well as the Orion Nebula).
