What does HP branded mean in the context of seagate SATA hard drive?
Is this an OEM hard drive? It could be a HP hard drive made by Seagate exclusively for HP computers. Did you see Seagate hard drive in device manager in a HP computer? In any case, the HP does not really make any difference to functionality. It should work in any computer, provided that your motherboard supports it. If you want to use it in other computer that does not support SATA drives, then you need to buy a controller card. It’s probably not worth it to add a controller card to your motherboard because it’s cheaper just to upgrade it!
