In the first three years we aim to develop a wide range of historical skills and knowledge. For the most part these skills are transferable and relate to many other aspects of life. Overall pupils will learn to make objective judgements , inferences and produce well argued pieces of extended writing. Our ultimate aim is to enable our pupils to understand how the world they live in today came to be so that they are able to succeed in the future. What staff and facilities are available to the department? The History Department currently consists of three full time members of staff. The Deputy Head and an Assistant Head also teach in the department. In recent years we have improved the facilities in the department significantly with the incorporation of interactive whiteboards, software and new textbooks.
