What does high-performance culture mean and why is it called an enabler?
added 8/26/2010 A. We want to create an environment in which all members of the campus community can do their best work. Organizations that have high-performing cultures exhibit several common characteristics that we aspire to achieve at Berkeley. These include clear and consistent decision-making processes at both leadership and unit levels, having the right people in the right jobs, with incentives based on performance and career development tied to the organization’s needs, and priorities that are aligned from the top of the organization down through departmental goals and individual employees’ goals. These objectives are not owned by any one function or office on our campus; achieving them will support all the other priorities we have articulated; progress in this area will help to “enable” the other initiatives to succeed.
