What Does High Levels of White Blood Cells in Urine Mean?
As mentioned already, high white blood cell count in urine is not normal. A high number of white blood cells in urine is often considered as an indicator of some kind of infections. Presence of white blood cells in urine can be detected with the help of urine test or urinalysis. In urinalysis, a sample of urine is examined under the microscope to detect the presence of blood cells and other abnormalities. If a large number of white blood cells are detected in the test, then it could indicate any of the following conditions: Urinary Tract Infection Urinary tract infection or UTI is the infection that affects any part of the urinary system. The components of urinary system are, urethra, ureter, bladder and the kidneys. White blood cells can be present in urine, if any of these parts of the urinary system gets infected.
