What does having ResNet give me?

ResNet allows you to have dedicated access to the Internet, e-mail, and on-line services using your own computer (or other network-ready device) in your room. It also allows you to use Bear Access — Cornell’s suite of electronic and on-line services. Most residence hall rooms have one dedicated ResNet connection per person (a “port per pillow”) so that each resident can have their own connection for their own computer. Dedicated ResNet connections are comparable to or faster than most cable modem or DSL service.
