What Does Halcyon Mean?
The term halcyon has many diverse meanings like calm, peaceful, tranquil, etc; there is even a well known place by this name, which is located in California. Halcyon basically is an unincorporated group of people of around 125 acres. It is positioned in San Luis Obispo County, situated just further than the southern border of the city of Arroyo Grande. It was established in the year 1903 as a Theosophist intentional society, it is also the base as well as the head office for, The Temple of the People organization. The Temple of the People was established in Syracuse, New York in the year 1898 by William Dower and Francia LaDue. It was later on shifted to Halcylon in the year 1903. The Temple till date functions as a minute but global non-denominational religious organization.
