What does Guildford Youth Council do?
Our key role is to make sure that young people’s views are heard and understood by those who make decisions on our behalf. This includes; Guildford Borough Council, Surrey County Council, businesses, charities and other organisations. We work to improve the image, status and welfare of young people to the community. We are frequently approached by different organisations for consultation on young people’s views and opinions regarding the now and the future. In addition to the above, we elect two members from GYC to represent our voice within Surrey Youth Parliament (SYP). SYP elects five of its members to serve on the UK Youth Parliament. If your ambition is one of a political nature and you see yourself as the future Prime Minister, this is a great place to start.
