What does GSEs rubber devulcanization technology do?

When rubber or elastomers are used for many products, e.g., tires, sulfur is added and the rubber is then cured to harden it. This is called vulcanization. In order to recycle and reuse the rubber for high value products, the sulfur bonds must be broken in order to make the rubber pliable and reactive again. This is called devulcanization. GSE has developed a patented technology for devulcanizing rubber and elastomers that is highly competitive economically, has a low environmental footprint and retains the quality of the rubber for reuse in high performance products.
