What does gross vehicle weight mean?
What exactly does the gross vehicle weight mean? I am referring to the sticker on the door. Some argue that it means the weight of the vehicle, which you might need to know before putting it on a car lift or hoist. Others argue that it means the max amount of weight the axle can carry which includes passengers, cargo, pickup campers, trailer tongue weight, etc. A second question might be: How to find out the weight of the vehicle without any extra loads such as passengers, etc.
