An Honours degree does not mean that you have passed with honours at all. In the past all degrees in the UK were Ordinary degrees and the student was selected or applied to do the Honours Degree a year later. Many degrees in the UK now incorporate the Honours part of the course into the three year degree now. Having an Honours degree had nothing to do with the level of attainment at all.
