What Does George W. Bush Really Think About the Womens Vote?
DNC Press Release Dated March 8, 2004: Washington, D.C. — The White House statement on Women’s History Month may have revealed more about their election year thinking than was intended. Of the four women educators cited by the White House, two, Catherine Beecher and Emma Willard, were vehemently opposed to women’s suffrage; the others are not known to have uttered a word on the subject.”I’m not surprised that this White House prefers women who disapprove of women voting,” said Ann F. Lewis, National Chair of the Democratic National Committee’s Women’s Vote Center. “They read the same polls we do. They know that American women are ready to vote George Bush out of office.” Women will represent at least 52% of the electorate this year. The latest poll by the Pew Research Center (March 3, 2004) shows them preferring John Kerry to George Bush by 58 — 46%.
