What Does Gadolinium Look Like?
“Hi I’m Brian with EricksonTutoring.blogspot.com. And today we’re going to talk about what gadolinium looks like. So before we can get into that, we need to know what gadolinium is. Gadolinium is a metal, it’s actually a rare earth metal, element number 64 on the period table. Gadolinium actually doesn’t occur on its own naturally, it’s always occurring with other elements and different mineral forms. But we can separate gadolinium out by itself and when we do it’s this silvery white metal that is malleable so you can press it down into flat sheets, it’s ductile so you can stretch it out into things like wires and it’s also kind of got this luster so it has that metallic shine that you often associate with metals.
