What does “foam filled” frames and/or sashes mean?
The manufacturer is filling the hollow cavities of the vinyl lengths used to manufacture your windows with a foam material. Acadia is not convinced that this provides a realistic improvement to the window’s thermal performance and that it is more of a gimmick. Leaving the hollow cavities filled with air is using mother nature’s best insulator. A foam filled frame and/or sash may experience unforeseen problems later in the life of the window.
