What does expunging DUI records mean?
Expunging DUI records is the removal of police and court records from public inspection. Expunging DUI records does not apply to a record concerning a minor traffic stop. If you have been charged with a crime, including a traffic stop for which a term of imprisonment may happen, you may file a petition for expunging your DUI records if: • You were found not guilty in your defense case • The charge was dismissed • The charge lead to probation before judgment (not counting charges of driving while under the influence (DUI) or driving while impaired) • The State’s Attorney did not prosecute (nol prosequi) your charge • The Court indefinitely postponed your case (stet) • Your case was compromised (paid) • You were convicted of only one non-violent crime and you were given a full and unconditional pardon by your Governor If you have any further questions about expunging your DUI records, please feel free to call us Toll Free at 1.888.DUI.EXPUNGE.
