What does entering into/taking the aspect of the object mean?
Thubten Yeshe responds: Imagine a table with a red cloth on it which is covered by a piece of clear glass. The glass ‘takes on’ the red of the cloth. If you change the cloth under the glass to a blue cloth, the glass will ‘take on’ blue. It is something like that. An image is generated in the mind that appears to us like the object of our perception. It appears to us to be the object of our perception, but it is a mental image.
