What does electrical resistance do?

0

Electrons are slowed down by the resistance. In the process, the voltage leaving the resistance will be decreased. The voltage drop across the resistance is called the ‘Potential Difference’ (PD). This process can be likened to water flowing through a pipe and encountering a partly closed valve (resistance). The flow of water is decreased through the valve and the Pressure after the valve will decrease due to drop in flow, just like the above electrical process This gives a ‘Pressure Difference’ across the valve (PD).
