What does dolphin-friendly labeling on canned tuna really mean?
The intention behind dolphin-friendly labeling on tuna products is to certify that labeled tuna has not been harvested in a manner that kills or harms dolphins. However, dolphin-friendly labeling has no international certification body, and does not go through an independent auditing process. Labeling is almost always subject to the laws of the country of origin.
