What does DNR import do? How does the DNR module work?
Each year, you receive a file (dnrnew) from us which contains the DNR registrations. There is an import procedure in WinGAP that compares the records in the dnrnew file to the records in your existing dnr data file (dnr). If a new registration is found or a name has changed, the record from dnrnew is added to your dnr file and flagged with a status of New. During the process of printing PP reporting forms, you can print Marine forms from DNR which will be all of the records that are flagged as New. These forms are mailed. Any form that is returned indicating the boat is in the county and actually owned by the individual is “worked” through DNR.
