What Does Differentiated Instruction Mean in My Language Arts Classroom?
(Pokey Stanford) Differentiated Instruction (DI) has been in use for years with the gifted education crowd, but it has finally arrived in the regular education classroom. DI is both a teaching philosophy and a learning philosophy which emphasizes students at the core. Because each student is different, DI stresses that one style of teaching will not accommodate every student, and varies content, process, and product for each learner – from PK to college. This session is presented in conjunction with The Department of Curriculum, Instruction and Special Education at The University of Southern Mississippi.
