What does DHLPP (known as the distemper vaccine) stand for?
Distemper is a viral disease that attacks the respiratory and nervous system of dogs. There is no cure for the virus itself. Treatment may help some dogs recover, but it is a potentially deadly disease. Hepatitis is an infectious liver disease. Leptospirosis is an infectious disease found in wild animal urine. Especially dangerous in low-lying areas where water stays stagnant. Wild animal urine that contains the Leptosirosis virus contaminates puddles and stagnant water your dog my drink from. Once acquired, this viral disease is difficult to diagnose and even harder to treat. The virus attacks the kidneys and can be fatal in some cases. Please Note: Leptospirosis is also contagious to humans who come in contact with urine of the contaminated dog. Parainfluenza is a disease of the respiratory sysyem.
