What does DEA mean?
The scientific name is the DEA Diethanolamine (Diethylolamine), an emulsifier commonly used in cosmetics and shampoos in order to produce an emulsifying effect and foam. Although there is no clear evidence that it causes cancer, but studies have shown that DEA and mixtures with it present are suspected to have carcinogenic potential. Some cosmetics contain amines that can form with other compounds into (Nitrosamines, N-nitrosodiethanolamine) which have a high risk of cancer. Found from studies of guinea pigs, DEA can also form barriers that stop Choline (vitamin B complex) absorption, resulting in slowing the development of fetal brain. DEA also irritate the eyes, skin, mucous membrane, which is why shampoo from the general market should not touch the eyes. All LAMARIN products do not contain DEA.
