What Does Cuvette Mean?
The word cuvette is defined as the inner cover on the back of the case of a watch. It is typically found in watches that have a hunting-case. A cuvette is also defined as a kind of glassware. It is used in laboratories. It is usually a square tube that is small in size. It is sealed at one of the ends. It is predominantly made of glass, but is also made of plastic or quartz. The quartz used in making a cuvette is of an optical grade. A cuvette is designed in such a way that it can hold samples which are used in conducting spectroscopic experiments. The best cuvettes are those that are as clear as possible. It should ideally not have any impurities because those can affect the spectroscopic reading. Like a test tube, the cuvette may either be open at the top to expose it to the atmosphere or have a cap, made of either glass or Teflon, to seal it shut and makes it an airtight container.
