What Does Cumulonimbus Mean In Cloud Terms?
Cumulonimbus is used for an extremely dense, tall and extremely moist clouds. They generally appear to have a comparatively hazy outline with a cumulus that is developed vertically. They are known to produce heavy rains, hailstorms and thunderstorms. They are commonly known as cumulonimbus clouds or thunderclouds as well. These types of clouds are also mostly found charged with electricity. There are three factors that lead to these types of clouds being formed, firstly moisture and plenty of it, secondly warm and unstable air in a mass and finally something that lifts this mass rapidly upwards. These clouds are found between the regions of six thousand five hundred and fifty thousand feet and are very common along shorelines and near mountain ranges, partly because the conditions in these parts are just right to help in their formation.
