The British Commonwealth. Countries such as Canada, Australia, India and New Zealand that were once British possessions but are now independent. The Commonwealth is a kind of club that shares a cultural heritage. A heritage so strong that the Commonwealth sent its warriors to fight Germany twice and Japan once even though they themselves were not then under threat of attack.
