What does cognitive behavioural therapy involve?
CBT is something that is very useful for moderate to mild cases of depression and anxiety. Its an attempt to get you to change the way you think. However a more severe case (As i know from first hard experience) will not be able to grasp the concept of it and make it work. For example the exercises they will give you will require you to have a decent train of positive thought already running through your head. You also need to be able to see the flip side to any given situation. What it will involve? Most exercises will be examples of bad “thoughts” will be given to you and you have to provide the good thought to counteract it. If you start to understand this then they will teach you how you can apply it to your own situations and problems. Never worked for me though as i was the severe case, it was as effective as somebody shouting random letters and numbers at me. Good luck though.
