What does Chakra Balancing mean, and why is it important?
The Chakras are a series of energy centres located in the body at specific points. Eastern traditions teach that these centres are each concerned with specific aspects of our lives. For example, issue of personal survival, healthy and appropriate expression of our sexuality, and so on. For us to lead a healthy life in different ways, it’s important that the energy centres are aligned to be in harmony. Balancing the Chakras ensures that we feel at our optimum energy level and can realize our true potential when living in the outer world, as well as helping to heal old emotional wounds. In my practice I work mainly with the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Chakras, located respectively : close to the navel (“hara” area ), in the centre of the chest area around the heart, in the throat area, and between the eyebrows. Emotional blocks can often be cleared with a few minutes of Chakra Balancing at the end of a massage session, giving a powerful sense of release and deep healing.
