Carat total weight indicates the approximate combined carat weight of all the diamonds in a piece of jewelry. For example, a ring set with three diamonds, each weighing 1/3 carat, weighs approximately 1.00ctw. Carat total weight must be within a .05ct variance of the actual weight by FTC guidelines.
