What does “Bethel” mean in Bethel Reformed?
Bethel means ‘House of God’. It comes from the Hebrew words meaning house (beth) and God (el). Numerous events in the Bible occurred in a place called Bethel. In fact, it was a man named Jacob who gave Bethel its name in the Biblical book of Genesis where he said: Surely the Lord is in this place, and I was not aware of it. How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God; this is the gate of heaven. We call ourselves Bethel Church because we want our livesnot just our buildingto be the house of God. We want to be a place where you can find the power and presence of God, together with our church family.
