What does beryllium bond with?
Beryllium is in the same Group on the periodic chart that Calcium and Magnesium are on, so the formulas should be exactly the same. It is even MORE reactive than Calcium or Magnesium. BeO or Berillium II Oxide BeCl2, Beryllium II Chloride BeFe2, Beryllium II Flouride BeBr2, Beryllium II Bromide BeI2, Beryllium II Iodide BeS Beryllium II Sulfide BeH2, Beryllium II Hydride BeSe, Beryllium II Selenide BeTe, Beryllium II Telluride BeCO3, Beryllium Carbonate Be(OH2), Beryllium Hydroxide Beryllium is found as beryl in emeralds. It is used in alloys to make tools. It is a VERY toxic element and caused death in workers who inhaled compounds of this metal. The properties of the compounds will be similar to those found with Calcium and Magnesium.
