What does being “Board Certified” mean?
Only Physiatrists who possess the attitudes, specialized skills, knowledge and experience needed to diagnose and treat specific problems and to medically manage the long-term care of their patients disabilities are certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. The successful completion of an exacting multi-step process leads to certification, including educational requirements, practice requirements, examination requirements and maintenance of certification.
