What does approved and rejected mean on the profiles here?

Best I can make out a question is rejected if it is a duplicate (or really close to being one) or if it is considered in really bad taste (they allow bad taste, but within limits) or if it is not appropriate for the category (asking about sex in the Kids’ section is not big or clever). It is approved if you have several ratings that are reasonable. You cannot rate your own question. You can change a rating you have given, though, if you want.
