What does Annie do at school?
Annie spends most of her time at school in the special education classroom where she has her teacher, typically 3 aids, a nurse, and her therapists that drop in to see her. In this classroom she receives all her therapies (physical, occupational, and speech). Annie also participates in activities to help her meet her goals written in her individualized educational plan. She uses a switch to operate toys, play computer games, and read books on tape. She also participates in sensory exercises and other activities to help with her development such and hand-over-hand assistance with drawing, painting, cutting, etc. She goes to an adaptive PE class once a week and is also integrated into a regular classroom to be with her typically developing peers for about one hour in the morning and one hour in the afternoon.
