An oxygen atom, naturally, is too small for the human eye to see. May sure you mention that! However, it would appear to be a clump of little ‘balls’ surrounded by much smaller particles moving so quickly it is not possible to see them clearly. Just a fuzz, which looks like they are everywhere. The large clump in the middle, would contain 8 balls (neutrons) which would be slightly larger than the other 8 (protons). They would appear to be randomly distributed, and would all be tightly bound together, by an invisible force known as the strong nuclear force. Although it wouldn’t be visible, these protons have a positive charge. Surrounding this, would be the electrons, which again would carry an invisible charge. Four of the electrons would move around randomly in a spherical orbital, while the other four move around in an orbital that is shaped like a dumbbell. It is impossible know where an electron will be at what time. They move randomly and amazingly fast. On photographs, they just
