The District cannot direct an employee to a specific doctor or health care treatment facility. This is against the law. The District does not have a company doctor nor company treatment facility. Each employee has the right to seek medical treatment from any doctor or treatment facility they choose providing the doctor or facility accepts Workers’ Compensation patients. Certain doctors choose not to accept Workers’ Compensation patients, as health care providers are also subject to strict regulation by the Division of Workers’ Compensation. Note: An employee must verify that the doctor chosen is on the TDI Division of Workers’ Compensation Approved Doctors’ List (ADL). Medical treatment and/or lost time authorized by a non-ADL doctor will not be covered under Workers’ Compensation.
