What does an Early Childhood Educator do?
An Early Childhood Educator designs play environments for children, plans developmentally appropriate programs, supports children’s overall development through their knowledge of child growth and development, health, safety, wellness, and sound nutritional practices, and builds supportive partnerships within child care environments, the ECE field, and the broader community. Graduates from this program will have the skills and abilities, the core knowledge and the standards of ethical practice expected of child care professionals in the occupation.
