A construction engineer receives the engineering design drawings and gets the thing constructed by selecting construction contractor(s), directing how they safely build the thing, keeping track of construction costs, organizing the sequence of major construction subcomponents, etc An architect specifies what materials to use, and creates the building design. The construction engineer works with the contractors to get it built safely, timely and cost-efficiently.
