A carpentry and joinery apprenticeship will take 4 years to complete. During the time of your apprenticeship youll be getting practical experience with from your employers and will complete technical training in a classroom teaching college. Basically, a few days a week youll be on the job with an employer developing your basic skills. A portion of your week will also be dedicated to attending a certified training college and learning the theoretical aspects of your trade. Ideally, these two aspects of your traineeship should be working hand in hand. Make sure that you employer is assigning you appropriate tasks for your skills and stage of learning.
