What does Alliance Telnet Security do?
Alliance Telnet Security helps you secure your AS/400 from unwanted access by adding new security functions to the Telnet (Remote terminal protocol) server application that is provided by IBM. It lets you control who uses Telnet, what networks have access to Telnet, what IP addresses have access to Telnet, and what device names are authorized for each user. The Intruder Alert function pro-actively monitors for break-in attempts and notifies you via E-mail and messages. There are also audit reports, operator management functions, and inquiry modules. You can put Alliance Telnet Security to work as an important part of your over-all security approach to the AS/400.
