American League… theres also NL which is national league. each team in the MLB is divided into each of the two leagues, and then further for a division (like AL east, or NL west) teams from different leagues only face each other in either the playoffs or a certain time in the summer before all star break (in july) the only difference from AL and NL, in actually playing the game is that in NL the pitcher’s have to bat, while in AL they can choose another person as their designated hitter so the pitcher doesn’t bat.
