What does Addendum mean when buying a home?
An addendum is an addition to the contract you put on the house; it usually comes about if a home inspection reveals necessary repairs to be made. Your realtor will have you sign an addendum that basically requires the sellers to fix or credit you for the repairs, and when they sign the addendum it binds them to make the repairs or give you a credit on the sales price.
